Terms of use
These terms are between you and [OPERATOR NAME] ([COUNTRY]), who runs Paw Lanterns. By using the meadow you agree to them.
1. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, please use the meadow with a parent or guardian's knowledge.
2. Free to visit
Visiting, lighting candles, leaving notes and making a memorial spot for your pet are free.
3. What you share
- You keep ownership of the photos and words you post.
- You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and adapt them (for example resizing, or showing them in another visitor's 8-second "Visit Clip") so the meadow can work. This licence ends when your content is removed, except for copies other people have already made, such as Visit Clips they saved.
- You confirm you have the right to share what you upload, and that anyone recognisable in a photo is happy for it to be shared.
4. Keeping the meadow kind
Please don't post anything hurtful, mocking, hateful, sexual, graphic or violent, other people's private information, spam, or anything you don't have the right to share, and don't make memorials for animals that aren't real or that are meant to mock. We can remove content or memorials that break these rules, or that we reasonably believe are harmful, and we can block access if someone keeps doing it.
5. Your pet's spot
- Making a spot or writing a note needs a sign-in with Google. You can decorate and change the spots you made while signed in. (Spots made before sign-in existed are managed with their private edit link.)
- If an account keeps breaking the rules in section 4, we can stop it from posting and remove what it made.
- Spots stay in the meadow while Paw Lanterns operates. We may need to move or reorganise the meadow as it grows. We'll keep your memorial's words, photos and decorations when we do.
- We can't promise the service will run forever. If we ever decide to close it, we'll give at least 90 days' notice and, where we can, a way to download your photos and words.
6. Supporting the meadow
You can choose to support the meadow with a voluntary payment. It isn't a charitable donation and isn't tax-deductible, and you don't receive anything in return. If you made a payment by mistake, contact us within 14 days and we'll refund it.
7. Not professional advice
Paw Lanterns is a place to remember. It isn't counselling or a mental-health service. If you're struggling, please see the support lines on our Help & Safety page.
8. Liability
We do our best to keep the meadow running and safe, but it's provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for content other people post. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that can't be excluded.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll show a notice in the meadow before it takes effect.
10. Contact and law
